Exploring the R-package Dependency Network
This interactive visualisation allows exploration of the dependency network of a collection of R packages provided by one of our clients in the pharmaceutical industry. All the packages and their dependencies (except base and recommended) were assessed for package quality using {litmus} and {litmus.score}. You can use the controls to show different dependency depths, as well as different category and individual metric scores. After making a change you can also use the Undo buttons to step back to the previous state of the network and the Redo button to step forward once again.
In addition to the controls, click on any of the non-centred nodes to see the associated package's score and its subnetwork of dependencies (or reverse dependencies). You can also centre that selected node by clicking the nodes label that appears in the top left corner of the visualisation. Deselect a selected node by clicking anywhere on the background of the visualisation.
